Couldn't sleep in Lisbon, so I rode the first tram at dawn. The city felt half-awake: bakers hauling trays, a guy hosing yesterday out of the sidewalks, seagulls arguing over nothing. Traveling reminds me cities have quiet personalities before the crowds clock in.
